Opener..
In a Press Release, by the Frontier League, former Steam Catcher Billy O'Conner, (Elder HS, Xavier University, Cincinnati Steam, Texas Rangers) was impressive in his debut for the Washington Wild Things of the Independent Frontier League.

The Cincinnati Steam were well represented during the 2010 MLB Draft having seven current and former members selected, with five of these players being drafted for their first time and two being selected for their second year in a row.
Of the five 1st time draftees:
Ryan Strausborger, 3 year member of the Steam out of Indiana St, was selected in the 16th round by the Texas Rangers.
Adam Eaton, 1 year member of the Steam out of Miami University, was selected in the 19th round by the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Steve Matre, current member of the Steam in his 3rd season out of College of Mount St. Joseph, was selected in the 39th round by the Los Angeles Dodgers.
David Middendorf, 1 year member of the Steam out of Northern Kentucky University, was selected in the 44th round by the New York Yankees.
Michael Jefferson, current member of the Steam in his 2nd season out of Louisiana Tech, was selected in the 46th round by the New York Mets.
Of the two 2nd time draftees:
Zach Hurley, 3 year member of the Steam out of The Ohio State University, was selected in the 29th round by the Oakland A’s. He was drafted last year by the Florida Marlins.
Robert Sabo, 1 year member of the Steam out of Kent State University, was selected in the 44th round by the San Diego Padres. He was drafted last year by the Cleveland Indians.
With the Cincinnati Steam just beginning its 5th season it has been well represented in the MLB draft with 16 players being selected over the years.

Western Hills, Friday June 11:
The Hamilton Joes’ were Cincinnati Steam’s first opponent of their 2010 season and shut them out 1-0.
The Steam, who carried over 13 veteran players from their ’09 Championship team, could not get it done, despite a valiant 9 th. inning effort to tie the game.

Steam Right the Ship and Take Two From the Settlers 7-4 & 9-1
Newark, OH – Sunday June 13: The Cincinnati Steam traveled to Newark, Ohio, to face the Licking County Settlers for their first road games of the 2010 season. Cincinnati took game one, to record their first win of the season, by capitalizing on Settler errors and an awakening of their bats by exploding for 7 runs and 11 hits. Game 2 the Steam kept picking away until a 4 run 7th broke the game wide open exploiting walks and hit batters by the Settler pitching staff. The wins put the Steam at 2-1 on the season, dropping Licking County to 0-3.
Steam Defeat Hustlers in Lexington Home Inaugural Opener 3-2
Lexington, KY – Wed. June 16: The Cincinnati Steam traveled to Kentucky, to face the Lexington Hustlers in their inaugural home game.
Lexington scored the first run at home in franchise history on an rbi fielder’s choice hit by Justin Riddell scoring Thomas Tolliver giving the Hustlers a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the 1st inning off Cincinnati starter Tyler Hollstegge. The Hustlers added to their lead in the bottom of the 4th inning with Taylor Russell scoring from 3rd on a wild pitch by reliever Brent Wagner. Cincinnati evened the game at 2 in the top of the 6th on rbi singles by Bryan Rose and Jake Proctor. The Steam took the lead in the top of the 8th inning after a leadoff double by Jordan Keur, a flyout advanced him to 3rd, with one out Brad Gschwind walked, stole 2nd and Jake Proctor drove in Keur on a ground out to make the score 3-2 Steam.
Steam Shutout Lima Loco’s 8-0
Cincinnati, OH – Thursday. June 17: The last time Cincinnati and Lima faced off, the Locos put up some staggering
numbers: 21 hits and 18 runs in a 14-run victory (21-7) to cap off a season sweep of the Steam last year. The Locos
put up astounding numbers once again on Thursday night, but not ones of which to be proud: Lima pitchers walked
16 batters, hit three more, and threw 101 pitches out of the strike zone (192 total) in an 8-0 Steam victory. More
Hamilton, OH – Friday. June 18: The second place Cincinnati Steam faced the first place Hamilton Joes for the second time this season loosing 7-1. The Joes held on to first place in convincing fashion as they played all around great baseball Friday night at Foundation Field. The loss snapped the Steam’s streak of 11 consecutive games allowing five runs or fewer. More

Cows overcome errors to split DH with Steam
Late-inning errors allow Steam to tie game two before a walk-off infield single gives Delaware the win.
June 19, DELAWARE, Ohio—Eight Cows (4-5) errors led to one Steam win and nearly another on Saturday afternoon, but
a walk-off infield single in the ninth gave Delaware a 4-3 game-two win after Cincinnati (5-3) took game one, 8-4,
on the strength of a four-run seventh inning. Six of Cincinnati’s 11 runs on the day were unearned.
