This day began with the camper parked in the shade of a very large oak tree in Suttons Landing Park, on the Pete Marquette River, near Ludington, MI.
I remained there for a few hours, as I worked on these web pages, then went into town to find a WiFi hotspot to upload the files.
That done I hit the road on US 31 to connect with the M22 Scenic Byway... But first I had to follow a very slow motorcycle, with sidecar, on to get to the turnoff. The heavyset woman driver of the bike had traffic backed-up for miles. Oh well! I'm in no hurry...
Before reaching M22 I went through the lakefront town of Manistee where, before continuing my day trip, I just had to stop and make a photo of the wine bottle tree and the street scape flowers, (the flower beds are on every main street throughout the town),
Once on M22 I found the scenic drive to go through dense forests interspersed with impressive lakefront summer-homes.
About halfway to my destination of Frankfort, the road took me up into the mountains just north of the hamlet of Acadia. There at the mountain peak was a very impressive scenic overlook, where the Lake Michigan beach was hundreds of feet below...
Continuing on I arrived in the picturesque town of Frankfort, MI where I spent the night at the local marina. I have visited this town before, but never had the chance to spend the time photographing some of the highlights. With this visit I took the time.... This has to be one of the most ideal towns for vacationing, boating, retirement or raising a family....
I took an evening stroll along main street and the beach front.. I'll let my photos tell the story... (scroll down)
