Leaving the RV Park at Lake Wabigoon about 10 a.m. Monday, I headed further into northwest Ontario towards Lake Of The Woods, my final Canadian destination for this leg of my trip.

On the road for less than 30 minutes, it was evident that I was entering the lake district when the flat land evolved to rolling hills, as the highway wove its way through hundreds of small lakes, that dotted the landscape like raindrops on a windshield.

Arriving in Kenora, just before a heavy rain soaked this city of 18,550, I just had time to find a parking spot and make a few photos around the bay front  harbor, that doubles as a landing ‘strip’ for the many float planes, that also share dockage with pleasure and excursion boats. In addition, there is an abundance of seagulls cavorting around the harbor.

After retreating back to the confines of the camper, to wait out the storm, I eventually moved to the opposite side of the bay for more photos, and where some deer wandered through the park, to the delight of visitors.

Tomorrow I will continue west to the Clearwater Bay area of Lake Of The Woods for a visit with family for a few days.
