July 1 was the start of my official ‘MAJOR ROAD TRIP’ for 2010 that began with a trip to Fairborn, Ohio, for the 3 day 36th Annual Mini Meet East event, followed by the start of my 4800 mile tour of the Upper Great Lakes July 6.
Road Trip 1
Fairborn, Ohio - July 1st, 2nd and 3rd 2010:
Owners of Mini’s are passionate about their cars and each year they gather in a different area of the US to show them off, participate in autocross events, compete in fun events, renew old friendships and make new ones.
For many years two national 3 day events have been held in the Eastern and Western sections of North America. Recently a third event has been added in Canada.
The Mini Meets are held in late June, or early July, and all are within a few days of each other, making it difficult to attend all three events in the same year, but some people do. (they drive fast)
This years events were:
Mini Meet North, at Mosport, Ontario, Canada.
Mini Meet East, at Fairborn, Ohio
Mini Meet West, at Penticton, BC, Canada
(the western Mini Meet’s alternate between cities in the US and Canada each year)
My club, (Ohio Mini Owners) was the sponsor of this years Mini Meet East event held in Fairborn/Dayton, Ohio.
This was the 36th year for Mini Meet East, and the event
was well attended by more than 200 who brought more 125 cars with them.
On this page there is only a limited amount of space for pictures, so I have created a photo album of hundreds photos from the Funkana & Autocross events.
If you were a participant at Mini Meet East you can down load any of the pictures at no cost.
I wish I could give you all prints but I cannot afford to do that... So if you want a hard copy print there will be a ‘market price charge.
