The UPPER GREAT LAKES....

THE ROUTE PLAN:

I hope to avoid  all  interstate highways throughout the trip.

First it’s Northwest through Indiana from Cincinnati to Southern Michigan and follow the eastern shoreline of Lake Michigan up to the Straits of Mackinaw.

Then turning South at Mackinaw to follow the western shoreline of Lake Huron down to the mouth of the St. Claire River.

Crossing the bridge into Sarnia Canada at Port Huron, MI , and turning North to follow the Lake Huron shoreline to Georgian Bay.

Then it’s Northwest around the bay to Sault St. Marie, ON.

From the ‘Soo’ I’ll continue West following the shoreline of Lake Superior to the city of Thunder Bay, Ontario.

From Thunder Bay it’s on to Kenora, ON, near the Manitoba border.

From Kenora the plan is to turn South and  back into the US, at International Falls, MN.

Cutting across Minnesota to pick up the Western shoreline of Lake Michigan in Wisconsin.

Bypassing Chicago, I’ll continue to Bloomington, IL, then Southeast through Indiana back to Cincinnati.
