Office-Retail Complex Will NOT Replace Landmark
The options the Azur US Inc. of Knoxville, Tenn. had to purchase the Western Bowl building has expired. Western Bowl owners say they hope to be in business for many years to come. Plans to demolish the building and land located at Glenway Ave and Westbourne Drive in Bridgetown, and replace it with an office/retail complex on the 8 acre property will not happen.
With 68 lanes the bowling complex landmark, opened in 1958 and is one of the largest bowling lanes in the US.
Owned by the Hoinke family the bowling complex includes a number of other businesses and has been the site of one of the richest bowling tournaments in North America for many years.
